Managing Broker of the Year 2024
The Circle of Excellence recognizes two colleagues annually: Broker of the Year and Managing Broker of the Year. The criteria for each is as follows.
Broker of the Year (BOTY). Each year, one member of the Circle of Excellence shall be selected as Broker of the Year by a selection committee.
Qualifications and selection criteria for Broker of the Year eligibility:
Any member of the Circle of Excellence who has been a member of the Circle during the previous calendar year, and has attended two Circle of Excellence meetings during the previous year may be considered. This member cannot be in real estate management during current or prior calendar year. Said member is responsible for completing application and any supporting documentation that the applicant feels is appropriate, and returning it to the selection committee in the required time. Candidates must be a paid member of both the Circle of Excellence and the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® and free from disciplinary action by the Real Estate Agency and/or Professional Standards Committee of the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® for the year in which the Award is being considered. A member who has previously been selected BOTY (formerly known as “Sales Associate of the Year”) by the Circle of Excellence may not be a candidate.
The selection committee shall use the following additional criteria when selecting an Award recipient:
- Production volume during the current or preceding years.
- Real estate related involvement including but not limited to: Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors®, Oregon Association of Realtors®, National Association of Realtors®, OREF and RMLSTM. The applicant needs to be specific regarding this involvement. This service is considered over one’s entire real estate career.
- National Association recognized designations and certifications including but not limited to: ABR, AHWD, CRB, CRS, e-PRO, and GRI.
- Community service that is other than real estate and/or board sanctioned. Activities in which the nominee is involved but does not include on the application will not be considered. This service is considered over one’s entire real estate career.
- Number of years in real estate.
- Number of years in the Circle of Excellence (formerly Masters Circle/the Million Dollar Club).
Managing Broker of the Year (MBOTY). Each year, one managing principal broker shall be selected as Managing Broker of the Year by a selection committee. A managing principal broker is herein defined as a licensed principal broker who is employed in a managerial position, as office manager and/or designated broker. He or she shall be recognized with the presentation of a plaque during a regular meeting of the Circle of Excellence.
Qualifications and selection criteria for Managing Broker of the Year eligibility:
Any managing broker who has been a managing broker for five or more consecutive years may be considered. Nominations for MBOTY will be solicited from the PMAR membership. A nomination form and supporting documentation shall be sent to the selection committee in the required time. Candidates must be a paid member the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® and free from disciplinary action by the Real Estate Agency and/or Professional Standards Committee of the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® for the year in which the Award is being considered.
